I can care about you, and you can care about me. But if the ME that you care about does not care about MYSELF, and the YOU i care about does not about YOURSELF, then our esteem will leave us to our selves.

So, It’s been quite some time since I have posted on Tumblr, but I am back, and do not worry, I am staying.
A lot has changed since my departure, but it appears as if I am just arriving, to myself that is. I have graduated college with a Bachelors in Social Work, I have the most amazing group of friends that I can forever count on, and I start my career in less than a month. These are all great things, things I have been looking forward too, they are my life.
Unfortunately, events happen that you aren’t so certain will take place. My grandparents have aged a lot in the past year, I no longer have a girlfriend, and some other personal stuff is taking place that I knew would come, but wasn’t quite ready for.
Life though, that’s exactly what it is. And each and every step that is taken whether forward or backward is in fact a step, and therefore an experience. I am thankful for all of the good that has happened, and all of the not-so-good that has taken place, because I know when all is said and done, when that day comes, it will have added to my character, and made me the person I long to be.
Everything happens for a reason, I have always said that and I still believe it to be true. I also believe and understand that we may never know what that reason is, but I TRUST that it is for the better, and TRUST I will not be given anything I cannot handle.
I often hear people say that they wish they were a child again, when things were easy. They doubt the saying that “God doesn’t give you more than you can handle.”, because life has gotten harder. Life is meant to get more challenging, more difficult, because as humans we are suppose to learn from our experiences, so we know how to cope later on.
I can try and erase everything bad that has taken place, but that will do no good, and I can also try to isolate the great times and hold them forever. Truth is, Good does come with Bad, and without the bad, the struggle, the difficulty, how would we be able to appreciate the greatness.
I am thankful, I am me, and I am still here.
It is no secret that I am not into politics. This is not because I am not interested, but it is simply because I haven’t taken the proper time and dedication to delve into it, and completely understand it. However, what I do understand is that what we currently have going on in The United States of America is not working for the average people. I know as a leader you have to put everyone’s best interest at heart, whether it’s a manager of a Little League Baseball Team, or an Owner and Operator of a small business.
Obviously, with the small business or baseball team it is easier to meet the needs of the people involved because we are dealing with a more compact group of people. However, these people may have different goals; therefore we must focus on the majority. Fact is the majority of the people in this country are “Average”. The majority is not big time CEO’s, rather more people are living on the streets. Why are we doing things to make the higher ups (minority) pleased when they already have shelter, money, clothing, transportation?
Now, I am not saying we should forget about the CEO’s and wealthy, but what I’m saying is that we should NOT ignore the fact that there are people in desperate need, and their needs are not being met. These people make up a crucial part of America. How do we expect to get the economy boosting if we have millions of people on the street, with no money to spend or to pour into the economy? I think you see where I’m heading with this. Some people are calling for less government and less spending, but yet we want to improve the economic state we are currently in.
In order to make money, money must first be spent. If nothing is circulating (meaning cash or loans or debit/credit) how will anything be improved? If we don’t spend, we don’t buy, if we do not buy, there’s less need to produce. If we have no reason to produce, where will the jobs come from? We can keep depending on imports, sure, but what does that mean for the worth of our dollar compared to other currency?
In my opinion, to boost the economic crisis we currently have, we must go from the bottom up, not the trickle down approach. For some reason the monies just never get all the way down to the bottom. The bottom is further down than people acknowledge. This is probably because we do not want to admit as Americans that there are certain regions of the country living in worse conditions than that of “third world nations.”
Do I think that something like what I’m proposing is an ideal, far from reality? Not at all! We’ve had a great Welfare State in the past where everyone was benefiting. The unemployment rate was not 12%+ and the people at the top were living comfortably.
Two things need to happen. Number One, the American government needs to stick to what they propose, not get instilled with fear, and actually have a backbone. And finally, unfortunately easier said than done, we must acknowledge the well-being of everyone, not just ourselves, and work together.
But after all, what do I know? I am Inexperienced.
There are so many people in this great big beautiful world, so much to be taught but even more to be learned, infinite differences but one constant remains; created by Him, living for Him, learning through Him, and united in His glory.
Give This a Listen, and Soothe Your Soul.
